Boost your breakfast routine

When a sit-down breakfast is just too much to ask, but you still want a good nutritional start to the day – bring on the smoothies!


Insta-smoothie

For the fastest, easiest smoothie imaginable, pick up a pack of Evive Viva smoothie wheels. Pop a wheel into the blender, add a cup of Silk Nextmilk beverage and blend until smooth. Pour into your favourite smoothie cup and go. If you don’t have time to use the blender, simply pour Silk Nextmilk over your smoothie cubes in a shaker cup. Let sit for 20 minutes and then shake. Voila! Insta-smoothie.

Love the taste of smoothies so much you want to add them to a sit-down breakfast? Build a smoothie bowl by adding a smoothie wheel to ½ cup Silk Nextmilk along with half a frozen banana. ‘Berry’ Your Greens

No one will notice the dark leafy greens hidden inside this brilliant pink smoothie. Blend together 2 cups frozen berries (blueberries, saskatoons, strawberries or your favourite berry blend), 1 cup plain yogurt, ½ cup your choice of 100% juice (pomegranate is a great option or use whatever you have on hand) and ½ cup fresh or frozen spinach or kale. For a creamy, rich texture, include half a banana or a handful of frozen avocado chunks. Sweeten to taste with CO-OP® GOLD Maple Syrup.

Dessert for Breakfast

Dark chocolate offers great antioxidant benefits, and when mixed with other nutrient-rich ingredients, can be part of a tempting breakfast or snack. Choose your favourite non-dairy beverage and blend 1 cup with 1 tablespoon cocoa, half a frozen banana and 2 tablespoons of your favourite seed or nut butter (try Co-op Gold PURE Almond Butter, Lentil Butter or Sesame Butter).

This also makes a great base for a sweet treat smoothie bowl – top with chocolate granola or Co-op Gold PURE Gourmet Trail Mixes and Chocolate Chunks.
