Eggnog and Winter Syrup
Ingredients
Eggnog
| 1 | ounce brandy | |
| 1 | ounce milk | |
| ¾ | ounce Winter Syrup* | |
| 1 | CO-OP GOLD Egg yolk |
*Winter syrup
| 4 | cups sugar | |
| 4 | cups water | |
| 4 | cinnamon sticks | |
| 2 | teaspoons nutmeg | |
| 8 | cloves |
Garnish: ground nutmeg
Glassware: Brandy snifter or Rocks glass
Method: Double shake
Directions
Eggnog
In a Boston shaker, add the egg yolk, brandy, milk and winter syrup. Dry shake without ice for 20 seconds. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Double strain into a brandy snifter and add nutmeg over top of the drink to garnish.
Syrup
Add all ingredients to a pot and whisk well until sugar is melted and brought to a simmer. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. Pick out the cinnamon sticks and put it back into the syrup to extract more flavour. Chill until ready to use.
