If you grew up on the Prairies, you know there’s nothing more comforting than a warm plate of perogies.
Co-op’s Canadian Grand Prix award-winning perogies are made by Pelmen Foods in Etobicoke, Ont. These delicious dumplings come in four innovative flavours: Sweet Potato Dill, Garlic Parmesan, Loaded Baked Potato and for dessert: Apple Cinnamon. CO-OP GOLD perogies make a great addition to any meal!

Perogy relationship puts people first
President of Pelmen Foods, Tony Rabinovitch, describes the relationship with Co-op as a “wonderful experience.”
“Co-op really values what we bring to the table,” said Rabinovitch.
Co-op is committed to building communities and supporting Canadian food producers whenever possible. We’re also committed to good food. Pelmen Foods has always emphasized top-quality products, and so working together just makes sense. We are thrilled to share Pelmen’s delectable, all-natural perogies with Western Canadians.
“Having a major retailer as one of your customers really helps with opening up new doors of opportunity. Since we started working with Co-op, our new private-label business has definitely increased,” said Rabinovitch.

Perogy pairings to pique your curiosity
We asked Rabinovitch how he likes to enjoy these perogies.
”Be creative, go wild! Use perogies as your base for any dish. Breakfast, lunch or dinner!” he said. “Whenever you are preparing a meal, ask yourself this question: Would I serve this with either potatoes, pasta, rice or bread? If the answer is ‘Yes,’ go ahead and use perogies instead.”
Co-op Gold Perogies can be worked into any meal. Don’t believe us? For breakfast, pan-fry our Apple Cinnamon Perogies, and serve them with eggs and bacon. Looking for a well-rounded lunch? Try our Sweet Potato Perogies with roasted chicken breast and a fresh kale salad. For dinner, boil up our Loaded Baked Potato Perogies, and pair them with steak and Caesar salad.
The Loaded Baked Potato Perogies also work well as a tasty nacho topping. Start with a layer of tortilla chips and top with sliced perogies, cheese, bacon and green onions. Serve with a side of sour cream.
