Made by us for our furry friends

CO-OP GOLD PURE® Pet Food is made by us with our best friends in mind. Produced in Canada with real meat as the number one ingredient, our premium quality pet food has all of the nutrition your animal needs. The ingredients have been locally sourced from sustainable sources where possible.

Co-op worked with food scientists to develop pet foods without filler, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. They don’t contain any of the corn, wheat or soy that are often used in pet food but serve no real nutritional purpose.

“We just wanted to make a food that my dog can eat, and I’m very particular about what my dog eats,” said Sav Bellissimo, Store Brands Manager at Federated Co-operatives Limited.

“It was important that we developed a food that was well-balanced and had all the right ingredients and wasn’t full of artificial flavours … at an affordable price.”

Best of all, Co-op has added another local touch: the pets you see on the packaging of the six different varieties belong to Co-op employee families.

Thank you to the customer panel from our Let’s Talk Co-op community, who combed through many doggone delightful animal applicants to choose the purrfect pets on the packaging of Co-op Gold Pure Pet Food.

Jules is feline fine on the grain-free Salmon and Pea cat food bag. In Bryce’s house, Jules enjoys the sweet life of a lap cat: hiding in boxes, birdwatching through the window and leaping into Bryce’s arms in the middle of meal prep.

Tozer Jones, our spokescat for the Turkey and Rabbit recipe, is a chatty 10-year-old kitty who came to Shelley’s house with his family in 2007. Tozer is a passionate escape artist who once chewed his way out of his mesh cat carrier on a flight to Nova Scotia.

Hudson, the canine model on the Lamb and Oatmeal Recipe bag, is a one-year-old Australian cattle dog who loves playing fetch in the river and chewing bones. This precocious pup has been known to escape 10-foot barricaded decks to go play with his friends, and accidentally knocked out his owner Heather’s front tooth with his cattle-grade skull when he was just a few months old.

Adorable Wazzy, a six-year-old Yorkshire terrier who loves belly rubs, fetch, sunbathing and relaxing, is the poster pup on the grain-free Salmon and Pea bag. Since joining Elaine’s family, Wazzy has accidentally locked them out of their vehicle not once, but twice.

Charlie is a 10-year-old English springer spaniel who makes his appearance on the regular Chicken and Oatmeal recipe bag. Charlie is an active dog who loves duck hunting. He also loves swimming so much that he lost the use of his tail on the fourth day of his first camping trip after wagging it for all of the first three.

Albus, a 2 -and-a-half-year-old Bernese mountain dog, works his magic on the large breed Chicken and Oatmeal bag. After being returned to the SPCA twice, this high-energy dog joined Ginelle’s family, who give him all of the stuffed animals, cuddles and off-leash walks he needs.
