Shawn Hansen of Craven Riverside Garden near Craven, Sask., is excited about having his cauliflower and cucumbers available at the co-op. “FCL has done a wonderful job of reaching out to producers,” says Hansen. “Getting that quick turnaround time, where it's out of our field, to the warehouse and on the retail shelf in two to three days – you can't put a value on that. It is a win-win for everyone.” Co-op stores in Saskatchewan are offering a selection of 15 quality vegetable products this summer and fall from the 16 producers. The intent is to involve more producers and increase product selection in coming years.
