Desserts You Don’t Have to Share

You heard it here first: CO-OP® GOLD Single Serve Desserts are for you and you only.

There’s no better (or more delicious) small indulgence than Co-op’s range of single-serve desserts, made by with Marie Morin Canada in Brossard, Que.

These delectable French desserts come in five mouthwatering varieties: Key Lime Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Hot Chocolate Souffle, Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Truffle Ganache. Yes, please!

Sweet, Like Our Relationship

President of Marie Morin, David Morin, is delighted to work with Co-op.

“As experts in the making of desserts, we are thrilled to provide Co-op with our know-how, allowing Co-op to supply its customers with delicious and authentic French desserts,” Morin explained.

For Co-op, it’s a win-win. We’re supporting a Canadian supplier, while delivering delicious treats to our customers. “We saw an opportunity to offer our consumers unique, restaurant-quality desserts,” said Sav Bellissimo, Federated Co-operatives Limited's Store Brands Manager.

“These desserts are made with simple, natural ingredients from authentic, traditional recipes,” he added.

This sweet collaboration shows how committed Co-op remains to top-quality, Canadian products that are sure to turn any night at home into delicious perfection.

French Fancy Favourites

The varieties of Co-op Gold Single Serve Desserts are inspired by Morin’s own French heritage. The recipes used to create the desserts were inherited from his ancestors in Brittany, France, which makes them tried, tested and delicious.

“As experts in premium desserts, we study the trends in different markets and find the best flavour profiles that will satisfy customers’ taste buds,” said Boudou Gueffai, Head of Marketing at Marie Morin.

The single-serve desserts are as sumptuous and indulgent as they are convenient. The French desserts offer a permissible treat without the guilt and can make any evening at home as special as going to a restaurant.

The desserts are served in glass jars, sold in packs of two. They offer a practical alternative if you’re hosting a smaller gathering where a larger dessert might be over the top, wanting options for an intimate date night when you’re both craving something different or needing a small indulgence after a long day at work. Co-op Gold Single Serve Desserts are perfect for any occasion.

Single but Ready to Mingle

We asked Gueffai how he likes to enjoy his single-serve treats.

He recommends pairing either of the cheesecakes with a sweet Riesling or a Sauvignon Blanc. You could even take it up a notch if you’re feeling fancy, and pair a cheesecake with a glass of sparkling wine or a demi-sec champagne.

Gueffai recommends pairing the Hot Chocolate Souffle or Chocolate Truffle Ganache with a Pinotage, a lush red wine with wild berry, strawberry and red cherry aromas and flavours.

“The rich chocolate taste with the sweet wine is a lovely combination,” he explained.

The Vanilla Crème Brûlée pairs well with a Pinot Blanc, Muscat dessert wine or Sauternes.

For an alcohol-free pairing, any of the Co-op Gold Single Serve Desserts work perfectly with a nice cup of hot Co-operative Coffee or latte.

Sweet tip: The Vanilla Crème Brûlée can be served warm or cold, but try broiling in the oven for 20 to 30 seconds to caramelize slightly the sugar on top, creating a perfect crust to break with your spoon before you indulge. Yum!

Go on, indulge in the sumptuous simplicity of a single-serve dessert!
